My urine's pink. Seriously. It's not the toilet color that's giving it a reddish/pinkish color. Later that day, I found out I ate a lot of red rice crispies. :)

Sendong
Last December 17th of 2011, our city was hit by a terrible storm locally named Sendong. It rained so hard that water gushed everywhere that night killing hundreds and leaving people with no homes and things un rescued. Also, the flood washed away thousands of people and until today, a lot are still missing.
I was born and raised here in Iligan City for almost 24 years now and I really wanted to help these people. So I decided to join a Rescue and Relief cum Medical team in a nearby town plaza during the aftermath of the deadly storm. Our team composes of 3 nurses and 2 students so management was kind of easy to deal with. I may not be the leader but as a nurse taking Masters in Nursing Management, I fairly, somehow, steered the whole team. Maybe. We've been dispatched to all places here in Iligan for about 3 weeks now and still, the evacuees need undying support from the local government, local sectors and of course the volunteers.
Currently, we are assigned in one of the evacuation centers in the city. A school. Every classroom has 6 families living in it. Food and water are being provided everyday. Good? Yes. Bad? Still yes: school's gonna start next week. Kids will be returning to their classrooms and classes will resume but they can't. As of now, there are no other centers for the victims. Relocation is still being planned. A very big problem for the local sectors and of course the evacuees as well.
Resettling is hard, especially if you grow up on that land being driven away from the flood. Although some of the victims went back to their respective houses (if them houses are still there), it is not encouraged because another storm might brew up. The transition to resettlement could be a long and tedious process that should be done patiently to the people to know how important it is to be safe nowadays.
